Widget not showing? Checklist

The usual reasons, in the order to check them.

5 min read

  1. Is the offer live? Offers list: Active, not Draft, Paused, Scheduled, Expired or “Limit reached”.
  2. Is the block on the published theme? Settings › Theme setup must show green for “App block enabled on product page”. If not, Add to theme and Save in the editor; then Re-check.
  3. Does the offer cover this product? Open the offer, step 2. Collections and tags are resolved live; a product added to the collection after publishing is covered after the next Re-sync.
  4. Is the data synced? Dashboard › Re-sync with store. It rewrites the storefront metafield and every discount.
  5. Is a sync error shown? A “Sync failed” chip or the dashboard banner carries Shopify's error text (for example a scope that was not granted after an app update: open the app once in the admin to re-authorise).
  6. Is the page cached? Some themes or apps cache product pages; open the page with ?nocache=1 or in a private window.
  7. Is the store password page on? The widget renders behind the password too, but external preview links need it.

Still nothing? Email support with the store URL, offer name, theme name and a screenshot; typical reply time is under two hours on weekdays.

Common problems

A dashed box saying “MixMaxer: data not synced” shows in the theme editor.

The storefront metafield is empty. Press Re-sync on the dashboard, then reload the editor. Customers never see this box.

The widget appears and disappears.

An A/B test is running on this product: half of the visitors see variant A, half variant B. Each visitor keeps their variant. Check Analytics › Experiments.

A gift card page shows an offer.

The offer targets the entire store. Gift cards are excluded from discounts at checkout; narrow the offer to collections if the widget should not show on gift cards.
